TWO GREAT “PHOTO” NEWS

Summer School

First: One of the shots from my Signes/Segni 2015 exhibition in Milano, the one on the poster, was chosen by Università Bicocca di Milano and University of Sarajevo to represent the themes of the 2016 International Summer School,
Rethinking the Culture of Tolerance III – Tolerance and Conflict Prevention and Resolution, from the Neighborhoods to the International Community, 19-25 September, 2016.

f50

Second: I’m very proud to announce I have become a member of the f/50 International Photography Collective. In the past months I’ve collaborated with John Meehan, founding member of f/50, on a common project on coffee shops in Milano and Liverpool. Our work will be published next June in Street Photography Magazine.

CPE & NUIT DEBOUT, 2006-2016

STOP CPE_01

Paris. March 2006. Students from universities and high schools launched a series of protest rallies in the Latin Quarter against the bill on employment known as CPE. Ten years later the Nuit debout movement has emerged from opposition to the 2016 neoliberal labor reforms known as the Loi Travail. Place de la République – a location dear to me (see my successful Signes/Segni exhibition in November 2015) – is the epicenter of this new protest. The CPE reportage is my first official professional photo project realized with a super compact and portable Kodak Easyshare C300 camera.

Signes-Segni, November 10, 2015

SIGNES/SEGNI, November 10-24, 2015

Università degli Studi di Milano Bicocca
Building U6 – Floor S
Piazza dell’Ateneo Nuovo 1, Milano.

Opening, 10 November, h 14:00

A photographic reportage around the Place de la République monument in Paris, focused on the numerous tags, drawings, graffiti and visiting people commemorating the January 11, 2015 victims of the Charlie Hebdo satirical weekly magazine and kosher supermarket massacres. The series of 12 raw b&w shots – the fine art print is Gian Paolo Daldello‘s – was taken not only in a photographer’s perspective but with a historical documentation purpose – soon all these signs/evidence will disappear! There is no judgment by the photographer, the will to record prevails. The November 10-24, 2015 exhibition – curated by professor Tatjana Sekulić – is organized in collaboration with the Università degli Studi Milano Bicocca and linked to an interdepartmental series of seminars on the contradictions and conflicts of today’s plural society.
