NOTE PER UN FOTOGRAFO

Now in FREE DOWNLAOD my essay on photography TELLINGWITHMYEYES. NOTE PER UN FOTOGRAFO. Sorry, this time I wrote in Italian. ENJOY!

THE MEMORY OF THE PLACE

The places keep their memory thanks to the tales told by people. Twelve years ago, musicians were still playing at 12 Bar Club on Denmark Street, London. Beer, whiskey and music in the famous venue never lacked. On the evening of November 18th, Monica and The Explosion – Swedish singer and guitarist Monica Welander and U.K. Subs bassist Paul Slack – took the stage and ripped through the sooty atmosphere of the club. With a Nikon COOLPIX P80 I recorded the high-energy show in Charles Peterson’s grunge style… Twelve years ago… The music and… a bunch of b&w raw frames…

LIFT ME UP!

Waiting for another lockdown – fucking politicians! – I let myself be inspired by Róisín Murphy’s Take Her Up to Monto! It was a whimsical trip into the darkest bays of my mind, it was a trip without danger thanks to music… I didn’t want to maintain the focus… I was led by the rhythm… Shake, Shake, Shake … Snap! Until I rose.

(Session inspired by Charles Peterson’s grunge series; all frames taken with Olympus OM-D E-M5 + Zuiko 9mm f8 Fisheye)
