I’m really pleased with this shot I took in June… Irene Grandi and Stewart Copeland together for “The Witches Seed” rock opera.

VINCENZO DA VIA ANFOSSI’S “SHANGHAKEN”

A railway depot area transformed into a temporary atelier during the pandemic thanks to Beppe Treccia RIDE Milan’s advertising manager. A Milanese senior rapper and writer at work. Vincenzo da Via Anfossi a.k.a AKEN 16K has deconstructed (under photographer and video maker Alessandro Bejami Gianotti’s careful eyes) the fears of the contemporary world: plexiglass, paint, spray paint, wood, ropes and recycled materials are the “street antibodies” that animate SHANGHAKEN. Là dove vive l’uomo his first solo exhibition. The choice of where to start is up to you: the maternal boldness of the materials or Vincenzo’s soul slices.

SHANGHAKEN. Là dove vive l’uomo, June 8-20, 2021, RIDE Milano, via Valenza 2 – Ex scalo Pt. Genova, Milano

SUBDIVISION

Sadly, subdivison happens inside some political rallies. One who asks for freedom and rights is the same person who attacks with gender hatred another protester exclaiming “W…E” and “B…H” forgetting precisely about freedom and rights. What a fool a human being is!

NOUS N’AURONS QUE CE QUE NOUS SAURONS PRENDRE

WE WILL ONLY HAVE WHAT WE CAN TAKE
With this slogan I began my photographic reportage on the student demonstrations against the CPE (contrat première embauche, in English first employment contract) on 10 March 2006.
That’s my first political assignment – I usually photographed rock musicians – for an on-line magazine directed by Italian best-seller writer Umberto Eco.
15 years later, I guess both student slogans and my frames are urgently topical.
A series of imperfect and blurred images (taken with a cheap compact camera, KODAK EASYSHARE C300) tell of a revolution that has never ended and needs to be restarted today…

X30 TALES

My X30 Tales: It’s All About Winning Over a “Wild” Little Camera in Fuji X Passion October 2020 issue.

“So what is Matteo’s secret?… Apart from his natural talent and tendency to get himself right in the middle of the action where everything happens, the explanation is quite direct and simple, he does what all of us photographers should do.” (Hugo Pinho, co-founder and editor of the Fuji X Passion magazine)

CRISTIANO GODANO: BACK TO LIVE SHOWS… TO SAVE THE MUSIC

We have to work hard to get the music re-started after the pandemic tsunami. Cristiano Godano’s live show (a new book and CD presentation featuring Giancarlo Onorato in truth) at RIDE Festival in Milan was the right time to return to sharing music but also to seriously reflect on the future that awaits music and art: without an adequate support from politics, in fact, it will be very difficult to plan new events. Music feeds on live vibrations and cannot be reduced to an online streaming phenomenon. The prevailing carelessness can only be overcome close to the stage, experiencing again the magic exchange between the artist and his audience. No likes needed, just love, people, notes and… frames! The beat goes on!
